Dr. Samuel YUE


1. Family Background

Dr. Yue’s ancestral home is Putian, Fujian. He was born in a medical family in 1943. His grandfather Yu Jingtuo was the president of St. Luke's Hospital in China (now Putian University Affiliated Hospital) from 1926 to 1937.

His father Yu Wenrong graduated from Shanghai St. John's University, who went to Hong Kong in the 1950s and later obtained the medical license in the United Kingdom. After completing his studies, he returned to Hong Kong and served as the president of many hospitals, including the Elizabeth Hospital.


His uncle Yu Wenguang was a famous surgical expert, he graduated from Hong Kong University medical school in 1923 and went to Cambridge University in England for a degree in public health in 1924. He was the first Chinese surgeon who entered the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 1933. He served as the president of St. Luke's Hospital and the Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang Medical College. In 1979, he was elected as a member of the Standing Committee of the Zhejiang Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.


His eldest aunt Yu Baosheng is a biochemist and the president of Fujian Hwa Nan Women's College.

• 1980-1981, Internship at Hennepin County Medical Center, Minnesota, USA

• 1981-1983, University of Iowa Hospital Clinic, USA, anesthesiology resident

• 1984-1989, Medical Director, Queens Peace Hospital Pain Clinic, New Prague, Minnesota, USA

• 1989-1996, Director of Medical Research Center, PHOX Medical Optical Instruments Company, Minnesota, USA

• 1991-2004, Clinical Medical Director, Health East Pain Clinic, Minnesota, USA

• 2004-2020, Medical Director, Pain Center, Minnesota, USA

• From 2009 to present, Hy-Sun Biomedical Limited/ Well Cheer Technology Limited, co-founder and medical director

• From 2021 to present, the founder and medical research director of AZP, invented relaxin polypeptide and is committed to pioneering the research and development of new drugs.
